The St John’s College Economics Residential is a new programme that offers sixth-form students the opportunity to get a taste of what it is like to study Economics as an undergraduate at Cambridge.
The programme is aimed at exceptional pupils currently in Year 12 (England/Wales) or equivalent who are considering applying to Cambridge in 2025.
Over the two days, you will attend Q&A sessions, workshops, and taster lectures delivered by Cambridge academics. You will explore a range of exciting topics from the Economics degree and find out more about the application process.
You will also have the chance to meet current St John’s students and hear first-hand what it is like to live and study here.
All meals and accommodation will be provided free of charge by St John’s College.
Applications for this residential programme are now open to students who are on track to meet or exceed the entry requirements for Cambridge’s Economics degree.
Applications are assessed on academic merit and places are limited. Female applicants, students from state schools and colleges, and those from different regions of the UK have been under-represented among Economics undergraduates at Cambridge. We especially encourage people from these groups to apply. This event aims to make the pool of applicants for Economics at Cambridge more diverse and inclusive. When selecting participants, we may take personal background into account as well as strong academic ability and potential.
The closing date for applications and teacher references is 4pm on Friday 11 July 2025.
Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 8 August when further details about the 2025 programme will be provided.
