Departmental homepageChris Ewbank is the Senior Bursar (Chief Financial Officer) of St John’s College, a post he has held since 2005. He was formerly an undergraduate student at the College. At St John’s, he is primarily responsible for overseeing the College’s endowment, as well as its finance and HR functions, though he is also involved in supporting a wide range of other College activities. His career prior to joining St John’s was in investment banking, during which he worked for Schroders and then Rothschilds, latterly as a Managing Director responsible for Rothschild's utilities and natural resources business in Asia as well as serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Asian investment banking business. Earlier in his career, he obtained an MBA from INSEAD and prior to that qualified as a solicitor and worked at Clifford Chance. He has held a number of non-executive director roles in financial services and housing/property companies, as well as serving on investment committees at other endowments.
