Dr Ehrmantraut holds a PhD and MPhil in Anglo-Saxon, Norse & Celtic from the University of Cambridge and an AB in Classics from Princeton University.
Dr Ehrmantraut lectures and supervises across several ASNC papers, including Celtic philology, medieval Irish, and medieval Welsh. She also supervises Latin language in the Faculty of Classics.
Her research interests include medieval Irish and Welsh language and literature, Celtic philology, Latin literature, Classical reception and textual transmission, intellectual history, translation studies, and landscape and cultural memory studies. Her current project examines translations of Latin epic in medieval Ireland and the development of later medieval battle tales. Her monograph on the reception of Classical mythology in medieval Ireland is forthcoming with Boydell and Brewer.
