Departmental homepageJohn Iliffe was Professor of African History at the University of Cambridge. He was a Fellow of the British Academy from 1989 to 2006 and was awarded the Herskovits Prize in 1988 for The African Poor: A History.
He is currently engaged in producing a fourth edition of a general history of the African continent.
